FREE INTRO SESSION

If you have never done CrossFit before or still consider yourself a beginner, this is your first step! At CrossFit HB we have had a wide range of clients come through our doors. From soccer moms to experienced athletes, teenagers to grandparents, we can teach CrossFit to anyone.

This introductory session includes a fitness evaluation where an experienced CrossFit coach will test your fitness level. Prior to starting your workout we will discuss the CrossFit methodology with you and talk about your goals. During this portion of the introductory session we will answer any questions or concerns you might have about CrossFit. The fitness evaluation will give you a taste of CrossFit. We will screen your flexibility/mobility and evaluate your range of motion on specific bodyweight movements. Finally, we will put you through a workout of basic CrossFit movements. The workout will be challenging, but it will give you an accurate reading of your fitness level.

FUNDAMENTALS COURSE

The Fundamentals Course is a prerequisite course that is required in order to enter the group classes at CrossFit HB.

What?

Our introductory course will teach you the basic CrossFit movements, olympic weightlifting, power lifting, gymnastics, and other foundational fitness skills. Most importantly, the Fundamentals Course will teach you how to scale or modify every movement to set you up for success and longevity in your CrossFit journey. We will also go over mobility, injury prevention, and nutrition. For those that have never done CrossFit before, this is the place for you to get started.

The Fundamentals Course is 10 one-on-one or two-on-one personal training sessions. Your personal coach will work with your schedule to plan sessions and will constantly monitor your fitness level in the Fundamentals Course and once you graduate to the Group Class. At the end of the course, you’ll be prepared with everything you need to join our Group Classes and W.O.D. (workout of the day) with confidence and proficiency.

Why?

Personal training sessions are, simply put, the most effective and safest way to learn CrossFit. The purpose of our Fundamentals Course can be broken down into two main components.

1. CrossFit is complex and technical. We want to make sure you can perform movements and lifts safely with proper form and technique. It would be irresponsible of us to throw you into a Group Class unless you are properly prepared. Improving your fitness is a process and to be proficient at 30-40 CrossFit movements takes time and patience.

2. With the Fundamentals Course you will have a personal coach through your entire CrossFit journey. We want to work with you and find out what your goals are. Better yet, we want to put in place a plan to help you achieve your goals and keep you motivated. The coaches at CrossFit HB genuinely care about their clients and it will be apparent quickly that they have your best interests in mind. As the relationship with your coach develops, you will find that the path to health and wellness is more gratifying and enjoyable.

Fundamentals Course Cost

$650 for 10 sessions (one-on-one personal training)
$550/each for 10 sessions (two-on-one personal training)

GROUP CLASSES

Our CrossFit Group Classes are the fun and safe way to achieve a new level of fitness.

Once you have completed the CrossFit HB Foundations Course you will be eligible to attend any of the Group Classes available throughout the week. Group Classes focus on mastering the 9 fundamental movements which will allow you to complete workouts with power, technique and intensity.

The 9 Foundational movements are:

  • Air Squat
  • Front Squat
  • Overhead Squat
  • Shoulder Press
  • Push Press
  • Push Jerk
  • Deadlift
  • Sumo Deadlift High Pull
  • Medicine Ball Clean

 

In addition to these movements we will also be covering the standard and scaled versions of: push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, box jumps, and rowing. Using scaled versions will allow you to master the technique, develop the R.O.M. (range of motion), and build the strength needed to progress to the full movement or exercise.

As you progress in your training we will incorporate more training and instruction on advanced body-weight and weighted movements. Examples of these exercises include: kettlebell swings, dumbbells, wall ball throws, thruster, barbell clean, barbell snatch, jumping rope, and more.
